PLATELET RICH PLASMA

LogoPatternBackground.jpg

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment that uses a patient's own blood to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture and tone and has an extensive ability to reduce wrinkles, improve skin tone, and address various skin concerns.

The blood contains platelets, essential for clotting and rich in growth factors, proteins, and cytokines. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy starts with a simple blood draw, just like a regular test. This blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. The resulting PRP, with a high concentration of these powerful cells, is then extracted for treatment.

When PRP is applied to target areas (face, hands, scalp, etc.), the growth factors within the platelets stimulate significant tissue repair and regeneration. This includes boosting collagen and elastin production, vital for skin elasticity and structure. The microtrauma from the application methods further activates the body's natural healing processes.

Consequently, PRP treatment leads to improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles, and hair regrowth by stimulating dormant follicles. Essentially, PRP leverages the body's inherent healing capabilities by delivering a concentrated dose of platelets to initiate a regenerative response for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and scar improvement.

Key Benefits

  • Releases growth factors that stimulate cell growth, tissue repair and collagen production

  • Improves skin texture, firmness and overall rejuvenation

  • Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • PRP treatment can also help smooth acne scars

  • PRP is also used on the scalp for hair restoration, stimulating hair growth and improving hair density

Treatments generally have minimal downtime, allowing you to resume normal activities shortly after the procedure. Results are usually noticeable within the first few weeks after treatment and, impressively, can last for 12-24 months, depending on individual skin conditions and lifestyle.

This treatment is available exclusively at The Hair & Skin Clinic.
